Aircraft Carrying US Defense Secretary Required to Land in UK Due to Fracture in Windshield
A jet ferrying the US defense secretary was compelled to make an emergency landing in the UK on Wednesday following a fracture was identified in the aircraft's cockpit window, according to an announcement which stated that all passengers were secure.
"The aircraft touched down in accordance with standard procedures and all passengers, among them Secretary Hegseth, is unharmed," an official representative stated in a online announcement.
The secretary was coming back from a short visit to the Belgian capital during the flight.
This incident does not mark the first occasion that a US military aircraft transporting a high-ranking official has experienced equipment failures.
Months ago, a United States Air Force aircraft transporting Marco Rubio to Munich was forced to return to the US capital after encountering a mechanical fault.
