British tennis star Emma Raducanu ends this year's campaign and plans to retain coach for 2026.

Emma Raducanu made it to the third stage in three out of four Grand Slam events during the season.

Emma Raducanu from Great Britain has withdrawn from the last two tournaments of the year because of the illness she has been battling for the last week and a half.

The 22-year-old was scheduled to compete in tournaments in Tokyo and Hong Kong but has decided to fly home to recover before starting her preparations for 2026.

These plans are set to feature her coach Francisco Roig, as both individuals have decided to continue collaborating again next season.

The tennis professional had her blood pressure taken while playing the initial match with Ann Li in Wuhan and retired when losing 6-1 4-1 on a day with extreme humidity.

She again required a visit from the doctor at the Ningbo Open this week, where she fell in a three-set match to Chinese wildcard Zhu Lin in the opening round.

She was also playing noticeably restricted in the third set versus Zhu owing to the lower back problem that has affected her during parts of the season.

Those results signaled a promising season, in which Raducanu rose into the international top 30 for the first time since her previous ranking, finished with a trio of defeats.

She held three match points before losing to Jessica Pegula in the third stage in the Beijing tournament last month.

She secured 28 victories this year and reached the semi-finals in Washington, but her most impressive week was at March's Miami Open.

Ranked first in Britain made the last eight of this WTA 1000 tournament, overcoming Emma Navarro, the eighth seed during the tournament then falling in a three-set match to Pegula, ranked fourth.

She was coached by Mark Petchey from Miami until Wimbledon, with Roig assuming the role ahead of the US Open.

The first plan with Rafael Nadal's former coach was through the season's conclusion but the collaboration persists, with a training block pencilled in for the end of the year.

She mentioned that her three-day trial alongside Roig after Wimbledon was like a "secret mission" as they tried to keep the meeting secret.

She came very close to beating world number one Aryna Sabalenka at their initial event as a team in Cincinnati during August.

Roig joined her in the New York tournament, where she reached the third round then falling to 2022 Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina.
