Over a fortnight subsequent to the heartbreaking passing of renowned film director Rob Reiner and his wife, photographer Michele Reiner, friends and colleagues are still paying respects to the pair.

‘Life is Pain Without You’: Cary Elwes Remembers His Director

Posting on Instagram, actor Cary Elwes, who was featured in Reiner's beloved 1987 film *The Princess Bride*, explained he finally felt able to share openly about his personal sorrow.

"Adequate time has gone by that I can now articulate my loss into words," wrote Elwes, adding that his initial encounter with Reiner created an instant bond. "Once we started sharing more moments together I understood this was someone I longed to have in my life."

The actor uploaded archival material from the film, commenting that he doesn't recollect "a single day without laughter".

"This story is about love, loyalty and sacrifice. Principles that Rob held dear. That is part of the many reasons he was the perfect person to helm it," Elwes continued.

He additionally honored Michele Reiner, stating: "Asserting that they were a great team would be an oversimplification. My heart still hurts every time I recall you." He concluded with a quote from *The Princess Bride*: "Indeed, death cannot stop true love but life is pain without you."

Martin Scorsese Reflects on a Colleague and Comrade

In a distinct essay, legendary director Martin Scorsese shared memories of Reiner, whom he initially encountered in the 1970s.

"Right away, I loved spending time with Rob. We had a instant connection for each other. He was very funny and sometimes sharply witty, but he was never the kind of guy who would command the room," Scorsese shared.

Scorsese pointed out Reiner's acting part in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, playing the father of the lead role.

"He was skilled at improv with the best. He was a virtuoso at comedy, he worked beautifully with everyone, and he grasped the emotional dilemma of his character," Scorsese added.

Judicial Actions: Autopsy Reports Sealed

Recently, a Los Angeles judge agreed to block the disclosure of the Reiners' post-mortem findings, following a petition from the LAPD.

A court order put a restriction on the files to prohibit the public release of "all case details, notes, reports or photos" pertaining to the active case.

The relevant authority had earlier stated their deaths were the outcome of foul play, with a official listing citing the cause as "injuries from a sharp object".

Aftermath and Reactions

In the wake of the killings, public individuals shared different reactions.

Ex-President Donald Trump posted on the matter, offering divisive remarks that were met with immediate backlash by many commentators.

Podcaster Joe Rogan added his perspective to the detractors recently. Conversing on his podcast, Rogan characterized the comments as "disturbing" and implied they revealed a worrisome lack of empathy.

Rogan ended by suggesting that an aide should have intervened when the decision to weigh in on the passing was made.
