Netflix Chooses Spot-On Performer for Mr. 2 in the Hit Series Third Season
The Secret Organization is geared up to exert significant influence in the next installment of Netflix’s show of One Piece, though the major clash won’t take place until the next season, and a beloved, popular member has recently been selected.
The streaming service revealed Tuesday that Cole Escola has joined the One Piece season 3 cast and will play Bentham. Bon Clay can use their power to morph into an identical duplicate of anyone they’ve touched with their main hand. The performer, who is identifies as non-binary and goes by they/them, will play a interpretation of that role reinterpreted as non-binary identifying, rather than as a drag queen, in the live-action series, differing from the source material and anime.
The new cast member will work alongside multiple recently announced actors tasked with bringing Baroque Works to reality, featuring chief Sir Crocodile, played by the well-known actor, Sophia Anne Caruso as Miss Goldenweek, and Sendhil Ramamurthy, who also joins the cast as the monarch of the fictional land.
Though Bon Clay is a key figure of the group, the individual will be introduced in One Piece the third season. Considering season 2 expected to adapt the Little Garden arc, this signals a significant shift in the timing of Bon Clay’s introduction, one that could indicate additional alterations to the story’s structure.
The actor’s combination of precise humor and deep sensitivity makes them a ideal selection for the character. Besides their latest vocal work in the animated feature Boys Go to Jupiter, they received high praise and numerous honors for creating and performing in the successful stage production Oh Mary!, emphasizing the versatility they’ll contribute to one of One Piece’s highly regarded roles.
The streaming service’s real-life One Piece series is scheduled to come back for its second season on the tenth of March, 2026.
