The Opening Game Pass Additions of 2026 Show Xbox Remains Committed.

Across the gaming landscape, commentators persist in tolling the death bells for the Xbox brand. Microsoft's console just got outsold by a platform few have heard of. Platform-specific outlets are now publishing content on PS5 topics for the first time. Last year proved to be an era of significant turmoil for the tech giant's gaming arm. However, judging purely by what's coming to Game Pass in 2026, it becomes clear that Xbox remains determined to engage players with quality releases on its flagship service.

The Available Now Titles

A pair of titles that are immediately available today, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, are not the headliners. Rather, it's what is coming to Game Pass soon that's worth getting excited about.

Upcoming Headline Games

Starting January 13th, the subscription service will add the underappreciated Star Wars Outlaws, an open-world game that deviates from conventional open-world tropes with an intergalactic heist adventure. Another big get is Resident Evil Village with its iconic tall vampire, hailed in past assessments as "the perfect cocktail of frights and fights."

Compelling Indie Titles

But even the smaller games arriving shortly on the service are quite compelling. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, an unjustly ignored roguelite offering thrilling gameplay, arrives January 7th — and it merits a playthrough whether or not you experienced the first Lost in Random game.

This UK-developed survival title from last year might get its hooks in you remarkably quickly.

Atomfall, the stealth survival game by Rebellion Developments, is also a game to check out. Game Pass Ultimate subscribers also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to look forward to.

A Robust Selection of Games

Ultimately, this isn't a revolutionary update to Game Pass, nor are they massive exclusive blockbusters that justify the service by themselves. But Microsoft's additions here are very dependable. The lineup provides a solid mix of past releases that passed you by and new-ish games that lacked the recognition they were due initially — rendering them excellent choices to get a second chance on Game Pass.

You might need to brace yourself to say goodbye to The Grinch Christmas Adventures, though.
