Vince Zampella, a Gaming Pioneer, Dies in an LA Car Crash
Vince Zampella, renowned for co-creating the wildly popular franchise Call of Duty, has passed away in a vehicle crash in California at the age of 55.
The tragic news was confirmed by Electronic Arts, the parent company of Respawn Entertainment, the video game company that he helped create.
The renowned industry figure lost his life when his automobile collided and caught fire on a highway in LA on Sunday morning, US media outlets report.
"We are facing a devastating loss, and our hearts are with Vince's loved ones, his family, and the countless individuals inspired by his work," a representative from Electronic Arts said.
